AMAU Mentorship: Guided Growth Beyond the Lessons

Updated

Seeking knowledge isn’t just about finishing lessons or passing exams. It should show in your daily life, in your actions, and in how you carry yourself.

But staying consistent isn’t always easy.

There are days when motivation drops. Responsibilities increase. Studying on your own can start to feel heavy.

That’s where mentorship comes in.

AMAU offers mentorship to support students enrolled in its programmes, helping them stay steady and make real progress, not just complete content.

What mentorship is

Mentorship is a systematic form of support for students who are taking their studies seriously.

If you’re selected, you’ll receive guidance and regular follow-up to help you stay consistent and benefit from what you learn.

It’s not about moving quickly. It’s about continuing, even when it’s difficult.

Where mentorship is offered

Mentorship is currently available across four areas:

Mentorship for All

**Who is this for?** All enrolled AMAU students, regardless of how long they’ve been studying. It’s suited for those trying to build consistency, choose the right programme, or get general guidance.

**What is it?** One-to-one sessions focused on helping you set direction, stay consistent, and build a sustainable learning routine.

Mentorship for Ilm with AMAU

**Who is this for?** Students enrolled in the 5-year Ilm programme who have met the required prerequisites.

What is it?

A structured mentorship track with ongoing support. This includes monthly one-to-one sessions, along with weekly revision and guided study to help you stay consistent and move forward steadily.

Mentorship for Arabic with AMAU

**Who is this for?** Students in the Arabic programme who have shown commitment and met the required level.

**What is it?** One-to-one sessions with a qualified coach to help you work through gaps, along with regular practice and revision to strengthen your understanding.

Mentorship for Hifdh with AMAU

**Who is this for?** Students committed to memorising the Qur’an, with consistent recitation and correct Tajweed.

**What is it?** A dedicated Hifdh coach supports you with a personalised plan and regular one-to-one sessions to keep your memorisation accurate and consistent.

Who it’s for

Mentorship isn’t for everyone at once.

It’s for students who show truthfulness in their effort and a real commitment to studying their religion.

Selection looks at things like:

  • how regularly you engage with your lessons
  • how well you’re understanding them through exams

Some programmes may have additional requirements. For example, Hifdh may require memorising a Juz with Tajweed, and Arabic may require reaching a certain level.

These aren’t barriers. They help identify who is ready to benefit from this level of support.

What the Tarbiyah Team does

If you’re accepted, you’ll be assigned to a Tarbiyah Team, consisting of qualified people of knowledge who are there to support you through your studies.

They help you:

  • stay consistent
  • push through difficult phases
  • build a steady routine
  • understand what you find difficult
  • act upon what you learn

This is not only about knowledge. It’s about your growth, your intentions, and your habits.

A responsibility, not a label

Mentorship isn’t something to carry as a label.

It’s a responsibility.

You’re being given support, and you’re expected to approach your studies with sincerity, humility, and effort.

If you’re not selected

If mentorship isn’t open to you yet, or you weren’t selected this time, don’t let that slow you down.

These opportunities come in cycles, and each programme has its own intake. You can check the Mentorship page for updates.

For now, focus on what matters:

  • keep showing up to your lessons
  • aim to understand, not just complete
  • keep your intention sincere

That’s what truly moves you forward.
